Wasim is a Director and Investment Manager, with over 15 years of experience in financial services spanning investment management, financial advice and planning, risk management and regulatory compliance. Prior to Simply Ethical, he worked at CitiSolutions, a subsidiary of Citigroup, gaining valuable experience in global financial services. A Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Wasim holds a range of professional qualifications in investment management, financial advice and risk management. Wasim holds a degree in Economics from London Metropolitan University and a Master’s in Islamic Banking, Finance and Management from Loughborough University. His combination of commercial expertise, strategic leadership and commitment to client outcomes underpins the firm’s long-term vision of delivering high-quality, values-driven financial advice and investment management services.
Wasim leads the the investment function and is responsible for managing the firm’s investment portfolios. As a Director, Wasim is responsible for the firm’s strategic direction and execution, product development and business operations (Compliance, HR and Client Servicing). He has led the development of the firm’s investment management proposition, the launch of UK’s first Sharia compliant Robo-advice service, and continues to drive initiatives focused on enhancing the client experience and expanding the firm’s advisory and discretionary investment management capabilities.
